This unique, dedicated wireless charging station taps a proprietary pin-copper track connection, so you can charge up without being tied down. Now it is even simpler to enjoy metamorphic sound whenever and wherever you want it. Mania Station is supplied complete with USB-C power cable, a power unit and documentation.

NB: Please note that the Opéra de Paris edition version of MANIA was always supplied with a Mania Station charging dock as standard, and as of September 2024, ALL finishes will now include a Mania Station charging dock.

How does it work? Well, inductive charging (also known as wireless charging or cordless charging) is a type of wireless power transfer. It uses electromagnetic induction to provide electricity to portable devices. Inductive charging is also used in vehicles, power tools, electric toothbrushes, and medical devices. In general, the portable equipment can be placed near a charging station or inductive pad without needing to be precisely aligned or make electrical contact with a dock or plug. In the case of Mania Station, the Mania speaker is simply placed upon the charging pad.

Inductive charging is named so because it transfers energy through inductive coupling. First, alternating current passes through an induction coil in the charging station or pad. The moving electric charge creates a magnetic field, which fluctuates in strength because the electric current’s amplitude is fluctuating. This changing magnetic field creates an alternating electric current in the portable device’s induction coil, which in turn passes through a rectifier to convert it to direct current. Finally, the direct current charges a battery or provides operating power.

The company name is a reference to engineer Guillaume Vialet, a companion of Diderot and contributor to the French Encyclopedia. Vialet is widely known as one the intellectuals who, through their intellectual, cultural and scientific commitment, contributed to the betterment of the world.
