Grado
The Grado family has been hand-building headphones and cartridges in Brooklyn since 1953, passing down tradition and heritage through three generations. The company is now world-famous for their remarkable headphone and phono cartridge designs.
Grado Labs was founded by master watchmaker Joseph Grado in Brooklyn, New York, and can claim responsibility for more innovations in phono cartridge design than any other person in his lifetime. He invented the stereo moving-coil phono cartridge, holds more than 48 patents, and was inducted into the Audio Hall of Fame in 1982.
