Passive Speakers
Passive loudspeakers are the classic, standard kind of hi-fi speaker. They do not contain built-in amplifiers or signal processing components, and so dedicate their design entirely to their one task.
A huge variety of designs exist: Every manufacturer has their own completely valid ideas in terms of the cabinet, the porting, the driver units, the terminals, and indeed the overall size, room positioning and purpose intended. Come listen – it’s the only way.
