Quasar

The Quasar integrated amplifier is the latest iteration in the renowned Leema Acoustics Stellar series of products. Sporting the same machined billet aluminium front panel styling as the Constellation series, the understated but classy looks of Quasar will blend seamlessly with any decor.

Dual-mono output sections provide incredible power and drive from such a svelte design. Quasar is capable of nearly 200 watts RMS into 8 ohms, easily capable of driving today’s loudspeakers no matter how difficult the load.

An integrated DAC builds on the renowned Quattro infinity topology, enabling faithful conversion from digital data to audio signal.

Cabled digital connectivity includes three coaxial S/PDIF inputs, three optical inputs and Leema’s M1 asynchronous USB interface for the very best reproduction of music files directly from a computer. In addition, a Bluetooth interface is included that allows high-quality audio streaming directly from compatible mobile devices. Advanced audio codecs such as aptX are of course supported.

A streaming board really expands the capabilities of Quasar. Capable of handling most formats at up to 24-bit / 192 kHz, playing music from a NAS drive, home network or other DLNA/UPNP device could not be easier. Dedicated control apps for both Android and Apple devices are available. vTuner radio is supported, together with Deezer. Other music services are scheduled to be added.

Leema Acoustics

Founded in 1998, Leema Acoustics was originally a means of further exploring the fanatical interest in audio reproduction of its two founders, ex-BBC engineers Lee Taylor and Mallory Nicholls.

Following the success of their first project (the Xen micro-monitor, sold to pro-audio customers only), the founders decided to turn their expertise to audio electronics, and their first domestic product, (the Tucana integrated amplifier) subsequently won the distinguished Hi-Fi News amplifier of the year award.
