This superb portable reference-level electrostatic headphone system D10500MK2 from STAX is a great way to keep detailed, high-quality sound with you, wherever the day takes you.

System includes 1 x SRM-D10 Driver unit and 1 x SR-L500MK2 Earspeakers.

Due to the extremely thin and light diaphragm membrane (often only a few micrometers thick) plus the complete absence of moving metalwork, the frequency response of electrostatic headphones usually extends well above the audible limit of approximately 20 kHz.

The exceptional high-frequency response means that the low-midband distortion level is maintained to the top of the audible frequency band, which is generally not the case with moving coil drivers. Also, the frequency response peakiness regularly seen in the high-frequency region with moving coil drivers is absent. Well-designed electrostatic headphones can produce significantly better sound quality than other types.

SRM-D10 Driver Unit

The SRM-D10 is the world’s first compact electrostatic amplifier / DAC. The built-in high-resolution DAC is easily capable of playing files of up to DSD128.
