704 S3

This elegant Bowers & Wilkins 704 S3 floor-standing loudspeaker is slimmer and easier to accommodate than ever. Perfect for superlative sound in smaller spaces.

Carbon Dome tweeters are purpose-built for the 700 Series. Delivering a dramatic improvement on the aluminium double dome tweeter, they raise the breakup threshold to 47 kHz, for pinpoint imaging accuracy and detail.

Thanks to composite construction, the Continuum™ cone of the Bowers & Wilkins 704 S3 avoids the abrupt transitions in behaviour that can impair the performance of a conventional drive unit. The result is a more open, neutral performance that delivers voices and instruments with precision and transparency.

Every three-way loudspeaker in the new 700 Series has a dedicated midrange cone using four key Bowers & Wilkins technologies: the Continuum cone, FST™, Biomimetic Suspension and midrange decoupling, the latter ensuring minimal interference from the operation of the loudspeaker’s bass drivers.

Developed using advanced computer modelling techniques, the Aerofoil™ Profile bass cone has variable thickness, providing stiffness and rigidity where it’s needed most. The result: deep and dynamic bass.

Bowers & Wilkins

Bowers & Wilkins (B&W) is now a very large company, with distribution chains and customers all over the world. However it began in 1966 with John Bowers hand-assembling speaker systems for local clients in Worthing, West Sussex, in the back of the electrical store that he ran with his friend Roy Wilkins.

Five decades later the company is a global leader in sound, and in 2016 Bowers & Wilkins were incredibly proud to celebrate their 50th anniversary – and even more proud that the ethos, passion and drive of its founder is still a vital element in its continuing success.
