The PLiXiR Elite BDC Dual balanced DC power supply is designed to reduce all the noise types present in a DC power supply. Upon deep studies it is apparent that traditional DC power supply circuit cannot eliminate them all. These include Ground loop current and diode rectification/pollution noise.

DC Power Supplies are traditionally switched-mode based due to cost reasons. Generally, SMPS are cheaper, lighter to ship and accept a wide range of mains AC voltage.

Add-on linear DC power supplies aim to replace standard ones for improved performance, but a great many conventional aftermarket linear DC power supplies suffer flaws – isolation of noise from the load to the mains AC is often not considered, which can potentially pollute the AC mains and from there, your equipment too.

Additionally, traditional diode-bridge noise injection into the signal ground is not taken into account at all. This means that the higher the current delivered by the DC power supply, the larger level of noise injected to the system ground.

The PLiXiR Elite BDC Dual Output version is designed to power two devices with identical voltage – in this case the Chord Hugo TT2 and the Chord Hugo M-Scaler – and the sum output current for the two devices does not exceed the limit of the PLiXiR power supply.

This is an elegant and cost effective way to power two pieces of equipment with one power supply. The performance is vastly superior to the popular Y-splitter cable method. Both outputs on the PSU share the same source and have the same performance.
