Upscalers
Upscalers are devices which perform upscaling (also known as upsampling) of media files. This process effectively re-samples the original file using an interpolation filter, of which there are many kinds.
The upscaling process can greatly increase the resolution and quality of a digital audio file, ready for passing onto a digital-to-analogue converter. Upscalers are a very useful tool in the hi-fi signal chain, and have started to feature more prominently in recent years.
