Description

M-ONE

In a single diminutive box, M-ONE delivers a compact integrated amplifier, acclaimed Audiolab DAC / amp technology, plus an array of connections. These handle both analogue and digital, aptX, Bluetooth and USB too, altogether ensuring a premium sonic experience with up to 384 kHz resolution audio.

Housed in the same compact aluminium case as M-DAC+, M-ONE is small enough to sit unobtrusively on a desk, table or shelf, with the same central OLED display and elegant dual rotary control scheme.

However whilst standalone DACs require a separate power amplifier to drive loudspeakers, M-ONE includes stereo power amplification of suitably high quality, plus pre-amplifier facilities for analogue and digital sources, all into one diminutive chassis.

The M-ONE DAC section is equipped to process PCM audio data up to 32-bit/384kHz via USB, whilst the USB input also supports DSD file compatibility with DSD64, DSD128 and DSD256.

The preamplifier stage mixes minimalist design with high-quality components, ensuring a short, direct signal path to maintain sonic purity. Volume is digitally controlled in the analogue domain, outputting directly to the Class AB power amplifier, which delivers an output of 40W per channel into 8 ohms – plenty of power to drive efficient modern speakers to room-filling volume levels without a hint of strain.

A low-noise linear power supply benefits all circuits from the DAC to the power amp, incorporating a shielded, precision-wound toroidal transformer and multiple power supply sections to keep crossover interference to a minimum.

Lastly, M-ONE shares the same high-quality headphone amp featured in the M-DAC and M-DAC+, ensuring identical capability with headphones as when powering speakers.

M-DAC Series

M-DAC is the multi award-winning range of standalone digital-to-analogue converters from Audiolab, comprising Nano, Mini, the original M-DAC, M-DAC Plus, and M-ONE models.

The range covers pure high-resolution D/A conversion, plus both digital and analogue amplification, and various levels of input/output flexibility, portability and usage.

Brand

Audiolab

Formed in the early 1980s by Philip Swift and Derek Scotland, Audiolab earned worldwide acclaim with their 8000A - an integrated stereo amplifier that became a classic ‘step-up’ from the budget models of the time. During the ensuing years, the 8000A established itself as one of the most successful British amps ever produced, and was joined by a range of electronics including CD players, pre/power amps and an FM tuner.

The brand switched hands in 1997, changing its name to TAG McLaren Audio, and was so known until 2004 when Audiolab became part of IAG and returned to its original name.
