Description
Twenty5 Stand
The dedicated Twenty5 Stand by PMC has been engineered to optimise the imaging, dynamics and overall tonal balance by using a blend of an ultra-rigid structure and resonance absorbing materials.
The front tube can be filled to "tune" the stand, providing not only greater stability and mass, but better bass definition too.
The rear tube is internally damped and ported to allow cables to be passed through, ensuring a clean elegant line is maintained.
Fits all stand-mountable loudspeakers in the PMC Twenty and PMC Twenty5 ranges, plus of course any similarly sized loudspeakers from most other brands, too.
Supplied in pairs, with floor spikes. If used, the spikes will add 2.5 cm (25 mm) to the overall height of each stand.
Why Speaker Stands?
In the 1970s musicians and high-fidelity enthusiasts found that lifting speakers off the ground and mounting them on something with no vibration increased sound quality. Ordinary domestic furniture was not built with the properties that would deaden vibrations and so enhance the speaker’s sound. Speaker stands, therefore were purpose-built to remove any deleterious colourations that came about through unwanted vibration.
Further research has shown that speakers are best positioned so that the tweeter is level with the ear of the listener and so speaker stands are often built so that they line up the speakers with the ear of a person when sitting down.
