Description
DG-1
The amazing DG-1 Dynamic Groove Record Player from Vertere Acoustics is their most affordable design to date. It it the easiest to set up, the simplest to use, and also contains some of their most innovative thinking so far.
PLEASE NOTE: DG-1 is now discontinued, and has been replaced by the Vertere DG-1S.
For those daunted by the idea of setting up a record player, many of which seem to arrive in kit form, the DG-1 is as close as you’re going to get to plug & play in a high-end, high-performance record player. Yet it’s packed with innovations, and also one of the most highly-developed options in the Vertere range.
When it came to building a new, easy-to-use, entry-level model for their record player range, Vertere could have taken the easy route of simply replicating much of what they have already done in their flagship models, just using less expensive materials and components – but that would have been too easy and rather unsatisfactory.
After all, Vertere are well-known for being all about designing UP to a level of performance, and not DOWN to a given price. So a complete re-imagining was the only approach available, and it’s certainly paid off.
Why choose DG-1?
- It’s simple. You get high-end, high performance straight out of the box.
- It’s sophisticated. Latest Vertere innovative technology, encapsulated in elegant design.
- It’s precise. This player is fully programmable, microprocessor-controlled, and pretty much future-proof.
- It’s fun. DG-1 is a really lovely platform to bring your vinyl collection to life.
Ease of use
Simplicity and ease-of-use was a major consideration in the DG-1 design. Many record-playing systems offer hugely adjustable suspension, tonearms etc, and thus can deliver satisfactory levels of performance in the right hands.
Vertere, however, wanted a model in their range which you could just unbox, place, and plug-in, and yet achieve the maximum sound quality of which the design is capable. Well, it’s almost that simple!
Master-recording benchmarked
Throughout its development the DG-1, like all Vertere Acoustics record players, has been benchmarked against master tapes and the half-speed-mastered LPs made from them.
Vertere have close friends in the recording, mastering and pressing business, including award-winning engineer Miles Showell and producer Giles Martin, and they draw on their expertise when it comes to the way products perform. They know how their recordings should sound, and so it’s that to which we aspire.
Cartridge options
DG-1 can be supplied either without a cartridge (perhaps you already own one), or alternatively may be supplied with a factory-fitted Vertere Acoustics Magneto Dual-MM option, for a small additional cost.
